2020 FOLKS - Grade 4

Folktales are cultural stories that are passed down from generation to generation. Traditionally, folktales represent different aspects of a people - their customs, their beliefs, their popular culture, or any other aspect of the society. They often inspire wonder and imagination by spinning elements of fantasy to explain natural phenomenon, all the while teaching the youth timeless morals and life lessons. We all grow up being told such tales. Thus, folktales remain a common thread that connects us to our heritage.

2020 FOLKS is a collection of modern day folktales written and illustrated by 4th Grade that reflect Korea’s current identity so that children of the future can get a glimpse of our lives and continue to learn the invaluable lessons that our students wish to pass on.
